The William Davidson Institute (WDI) is accepting applications for a Business Case Writer (aka: Research Associate for Educational Outreach Department). The full-time work schedule will be based on WDI’s general office hours (weekdays 8 AM – 5 PM); except for some travel, the work will be done in our office downtown Ann Arbor. The successful candidate will meet or possess these minimum qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in Business or Economics (or related) is required; must have an outstanding academic record. NOTE: If any degree other than Business or Economics, then the successful candidate must be proficient in business terminology and concepts.

Demonstrated paid experience conducting an independent research project as well as professional writing experience.

Excellent writing, research, analysis, communication, and organizational skills.

Ability to work independently and to work with business executives and university professors as collaborators.

Computer skills required: Windows-environment computer proficiency with MS Office products, including PowerPoint.

Prior international travel experience is preferred; destinations that included emerging or transition market economies are a plus. Though travel will not be a significant portion of the job, it is required for the successful candidate to be able to travel domestically and internationally while employed in this capacity.

Must be authorized to work in the USA.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:

Work full-time on-site during regular office hours (weekdays 8 AM – 5 PM); evening and weekend hours may occur, especially during domestic/international travel.

Conduct primary and secondary research.

Develop teaching materials based on this research, including teaching cases and notes, syllabi, PowerPoint and video presentations, and other supplemental course materials.

Assist faculty in creating course materials from previously conducted research.

Conduct competitive analysis of other organizations engaged in teaching materials development and dissemination.

Perform additional duties as assigned.
Compensation:
Annual pay will be $40K, plus WDI’s benefits package (includes health, dental, life insurances, retirement with immediate vesting, and a generous paid time off package); details will be shared with candidates who are invited to an interview.
