2nd Annual Career Fair in Algeria A Success
A televised press conference was held at INC Career Center on June 4th, where the Director of the Career Center, Dr. Ali Bekhiri, announced the 2nd annual Career Fair slated for June 29-30 to the Algerian television and newspapers. The announcement was televised in the evening news and received national press coverage.
This Career Fair is one of the highlights of this three-year program called Educating Managers, Promoting Linkages and Opportunity Integration – or EMPLOI. It is funded by the Higher Education for Development (HED) and commenced implementation during January 2007.
This event takes place at an opportune moment when the Career center already is making big strides in bridging the gap between what the private sector employers seek and what the new graduates can add to the firms. Through this program, a new batch of students have been trained in company research, mock interviews, resume workshops and job-hunting strategies and are more capable to take charge of their professional development. Approximately 40 national and international companies will participate; the number of students to attend is expected to be higher than last year’s 2,000.
