Project Title: Economic Development Initiative, Morocco
Sponsor: US State Department, Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI)
Project Period: 2004-2006
Project Summary: Through the implementation of a series of faculty led MBA team consulting activities and intensive short-term courses on Entrepreneurship, WDI has assisted members of Morocco's private sector to substantially gain from the Free Trade Agreement between the Governments of Morocco and the United States. WDI's assistance program has had three components: training sessions designed specifically to help small businesses grow and create jobs; short-term and longer-term consulting projects by MBA student teams. The project was originally slated for one year, but after successful completion of the first year's activities and positive feedback from Moroccan counterparts MEPI extended the project an additional year.
