Training Program for Moroccan Entrepreneurs - Handicraft Sector
Monday, February 27, 2006, Ifrane, Morocco

Handicraft Sector, Arabic
February 27 – March 3, 2006

WDI’s Executive Education program will run two five-day seminars in Morocco to improve business skills of entrepreneurs in the country as part of the Institute’s involvement with the U.S. Department of State’s Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI).

WDI is partnering with Al Akhawayn University in Ifrane to strengthen skills among entrepreneurs and business people working for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in Morocco. The goal is to create jobs in Morocco and help business people there benefit from the recently-signed Free Trade Agreement with the U.S.

The seminars are designed to be practical to the entrepreneurs as well as applicable to their organizations. They will learn how to add value to their products and be more competitive globally.

The seminar held the week of February 27th will be conducted in Arabic and will target women affiliated with handicraft co-ops. This training seeks to help the women build up the quality of their products and market their products more effectively through labeling or certification. The seminar will also cover techniques for planning and budgeting money for future projects and products.
