Farooq Kathwari will be the featured guest at the WDI Corporate Speaker Series on Wednesday April 5, 2006. The event will begin at 4:30 p.m. A reception will follow.
The topic of his talk will be, "Responsibility of Leadership in Shaping the Debate." Mr. Kathwari will share his thoughts and personal experiences in repositioning Ethan Allen as a classic American Brand and helping to shape the debate for a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir conflict.
Farooq Kathwari is the Chairman, President and Chief Executive officer of Ethan Allen Interiors Inc. He has been president of the Company since 1985 and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer since 1988. He has received several recognitions, including the 2005 Eleanor Roosevelt Val-Kill Medal; 2005 Honoree from the International Center in New York; “National Human Relations Awards” by the American Jewish Committee; “American Muslim Recognition Awards” by several organizations; Worth Magazine Recognition of one of 50 Best CEO’s in USA; the National Retail Federation Gold Medal; recipient of the International First Freedom Award from the Council for America’s First Freedom, Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award and the Anti-Defamation League’s Humanitarian Award
