Wednesday, October 10, 2007, Ross School of Business, W0750

Peter Bendor-Samuel the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Everest Group will be the guest speaker at the WDI Global Impact Speaker Series on October 10, 2007.  The event will be held at 4:30 pm, Wyly Hall #W0750, Ross School of Business, with a reception to follow.

Regarded as a leading international authority on strategic business solutions and achieving optimal business transformation results through outsourcing, Peter Bendor-Samuel is widely known for his work in developing decision frameworks and techniques for designing and managing strategic alliances.  He is the recipient of the 2001 Outsourcing World Achievement Award, recognizing his impact on the outsourcing industry as a professional who demonstrates innovation, breaks new ground and establishes standards on which others can build.

As a pioneer in providing outsourcing advice that pinpoints fairness issues in buyers' challenges and building on his early background from a service provider perspective more than two decades ago, Mr. Bendor-Samuel in 1991 founded and is Chief Executive Officer of Everest Group, a leading global business solutions advisory firm specializing in creating value through outsourcing. Coupling his keen insight with his extensive background in advising leading companies on four continents in a wide variety of industries and business processes, he is principle developer of the firm's unique, comprehensive methodologies facilitating decision-making and results-oriented solutions throughout the life cycle of outsourcing. He also serves as Honorable Advisor to the Strategic Outsourcing Council of Japan.  Continuing his quest to assist buyers and service providers in understanding how to create win-win solutions in strategic outsourcing partnerships, Mr. Bendor-Samuel in 2000 authored Turning Lead Into Gold: The Demystification of Outsourcing, a book that shares his insights into successful outsourcing principles. He writes the articles about outsourcing and business strategies featured as the introduction to Forbes' special pullout sections and is regularly quoted in business magazines. He is a frequent keynote speaker at corporate and industry events.

The success of his work at Everest led him to create Outsourcing Center, an Everest company providing an extensive Web-accessible portfolio of objective, leading-edge research and forums about outsourcing. Visited by more than 400,000 people annually. The Center's community is regarded as a top resource on outsourcing's emerging trends and thought leadership. The Center publishes the widely read Outsourcing Journal and BPO Outsourcing Journal; it also sponsors the renowned annual Outsourcing Excellence Awards, recognizing the world's most outstanding outsourcing relationships.  As outsourcing has evolved and become more complex with business process outsourcing (BPO), Mr. Bendor-Samuel has most recently focused on establishing methodologies that empower buyers and service providers in unique collaborative opportunities to design sophisticated business solutions that create and sustain optimal value for both parties. His recent work also includes developing superior approaches to mitigate risks in offshoring.

Prior to founding Everest Group, he was an executive with outsourcing service provider, EDS. He also was an executive with the outsourcing division of Ernst & Young, LLP.

Mr. Bendor-Samuel has a BBA (magna cum laude) and an MBA from Baylor University.
