Scholarships

Teeter Scholarships are full-tuition scholarships to attend executive education programs offered by the William Davidson Institute. Managers of non-governmental organizations and small, regional firms in emerging markets may apply for a Teeter Scholarship, which are awarded on a competitive basis. The scholarships are named to honor the memory of Robert M. Teeter, an advisor to U.S. presidents from 1968-1992 and a board member at the William Davidson Institute.

Upcoming Teeter Scholarships

History of the Teeter Scholarships

In 2004-05, WDI awarded $50,000 in scholarships to 22 recipients who attended programs in Bratislava, Slovakia, and Prague, Czech Republic. The recipients came from Slovakia, the Ukraine, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Romania and Uzbekistan. They represented some of the most prominent NGOs and SMEs in their respective countries.

For 2005-06, WDI’s board increased funding to $100,000. The board’s decision means even more managers from a range of emerging market countries who work at non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will be able to learn the latest management techniques at one of the Institute’s Executive Education programs.

For 2006-07, WDI awarded 29 scholarships.  Recipients were financial directors, executive directors, general managers, policy research managers, legal consultants, CEOs, vice presidents, and presidents from non-governmental organizations and small to medium-sized enterprises.
