Application Available For Rwanda Program
Wednesday, July 02, 2008
WDI is currently accepting applications for the Goldman Sachs Entrepreneurship Certificate Program. The application deadline is July 18, 2008.
The program, which will be run in fall 2008 and again in spring 2009, is designed for women across Rwanda who are interested in growing their small business or starting a business. Over the course of the six-month program, participants will create a detailed, actionable business plan. Sessions will be held in the areas of: business planning, marketing, finance, accounting, and management.
At the end of the program, participants will present their business plans to the group and program faculty. Awards in the amount of $5,000 will be given to the two women with the best business plans.
Thirty women will be admitted to each of the six-month programs. There is no fee for participants to attend. The program sponsor is Goldman Sachs, through its 10,000 Women initiative.
In March, the global banking firm kicked off the 10,000 Women initiative, which will provide 10,000 women, predominantly in developing and emerging markets around the world, with a business and management education over the next five years. WDI is one of a select group of leading institutions and business schools – which includes Harvard Business School, Wharton, Brown, and Columbia - partnering with Goldman Sachs to deliver programs in countries such as India, Kenya, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, and Tanzania.
