Stuart Hart, director of WDI’s Green Leap Research Initiative, will talk about food security at an upcoming conference in Washington, D.C.Khalid Al-Naif, director of WDI’s Development Consulting Services, will moderate a panel discussion on the topic following Hart's speech.

Hart will be the keynote speaker on the second day of the five-day SEEP (Small Enterprise Education and Promotion) Network Annual Conference called Powering Connections ’09.

The second day of the conference is titled, “Food Security: Exploring New Pathways.” Hart’s talk will kick off a day of workshops and panel presentations that will introduce new enterprise-based approaches to the lack of food security.

Hart, a top thinker on base of the pyramid (BoP) issues, will highlight the need for a new generation of BoP strategies that stress the co-creation of products and the commercialization of “green” technologies.
