Ms. Schmitz de Fernández joined WHI in 2004 and she brings extensive international business experience to the Company having lived, worked and studied in Japan, Hong Kong and France.

Before joining WHI, she served as Vice President – Strategic Planning and Business Development for DCH Technology, a fuel cell and hydrogen sensor company focused on distributed generation. Ms. Schmitz de Fernández was also Director and part of the founding staff of Global Aluminum Products Company – GAPCO, a company developing aluminum smelting and associated power generation capabilities in the Republic of Guinea, enabling Guineans to realize the full value of their bauxite reserves by smelting it into aluminum in country. In addition to conventional energy product development, she has extensive renewable energy project development experience in Asia. Ms. Schmitz de Fernández earned her BA in Japanese from University of California, Berkeley and an MBA from INSEAD, France.
