Call for Papers
The WDI and CNU-Brazil are pleased to invite you to take part in the second international conference “Third Sector Innovation: Sustainability and Social Impact” (2nd TSISSI). We aim to continue to raise the profile of the valuable work of social enterprise leaders across Latin America, to share best practice in the areas of innovative financing strategies for social impact organizations, human resource strategies, and sustainable social and economic opportunities though information technology, and partnerships.
Through sharing best practice we hope to facilitate the ability of social impact organizations to become more efficient and sustainable with the goal of maximized social impact.
The three-day conference will offer NGOs an opportunity to share best practices and strategies to:
- increase sustainability through innovative strategies such as revenue generation, new donors organizations and new financing tools
- increase efficiency by integrating some appropriate management tools and technologies
- increase independence through the creation of public-private partnerships
- recruit and retain valuable employees and volunteers
The conference will also provide practical training sessions for NGO leaders including, but not limited to, business plan writing, building advocacy campaigns, effective communication and strategies to build social capital. The conference will include a two day marketplace for NGO participants to display and sell the products they are producing through their social enterprise and also to provide a venue for additional networking. NGO’s should indicate their interest in participating in this marketplace during the registration process.
The conference will offer a mix of keynote speakers, case studies, learning-by-sharing and showcases of current and emerging innovations.

What to Present
Innovation is about being creative and putting good ideas into action. It’s about the development of new products, technologies and services as well as improvements to existing products or services. We want to know what you are doing different, better and with whom. We want to hear about inspiring case studies, learn about exciting innovations which increased or initiated sustainability, see stimulating and motivating new initiatives which enhanced the social impact and find out and share the best practices in the sector in the region.

Deadline for Application and Abstract submission:
The submmision deadline for the 2008 conference is already closed. Any abstracts submited after May 2008 will be analized for future events.
