The focus of the “2nd Third Sector Innovation: Sustainability and Social Impact” (2nd TSISSI) international conference co-hosted by the William Davidson Institute (WDI) is to continue to raise the profile of the valuable work of social enterprise leaders across Latin America. To do so it is imperative to share best practices and cases of social innovations such as innovative financing strategies for social impact organizations, human resource strategies, and sustainable social and economic opportunities through information technology, and cross-sector partnerships.
WDI and IGESC invite you to submit a paper for participation in the TSISSI focused on one or a combination of the following:
Innovative Financing Strategies: The case studies should highlight:

Case studies on innovative strategies such as revenue generation, new donor’s organizations and new financing tools operating in Latin America;

Highlighting key issues, successes and challenges;
-
Proven strategies to build capacity for financing strategies;
-
Innovative models for financing social enterprise;
-
Country assessments, including an overview of financing experience nationwide, key challenges and successes, and an analysis of the country’s legal and regulatory environment
Human Resources Strategies: The case studies should highlight:
-
Key HR strategies issues, successes and challenges in retaining, motivating, empowering qualify professionals and volunteers, succession and developing leadership in the third sector in Latin America.

Proven strategies to implement those issues.

Indicators / results of introducing HR strategies to the organization
Sustainable Social and Economic Opportunities through Information of Technology: The case studies should highlight:

Key management issues, successes and challenges to Innovate through Information Technology in Latin America

Describe the innovation and proven strategies to implement Innovations
-
Indicators / result of innovation initiatives.
Authors should be affiliated with a civil society organization (CSO) located in Latin America.
All organizations interested in participating in the conference must submit a 2-3 page abstract of the proposed paper. Organizations selected on the 2007 Conference will be allowed to participate if the proposed paper focuses in one of the aforementioned areas of interest.
Organizations selected to present their cases will develop a case study between 10 - 25 pages in length.
