The William Davidson Institute at the University of Michigan and the Center for Sustainable Global Enterprise at Cornell University are pleased to host "Business with Four Billion: Creating Mutual Value at the Base of the Pyramid." This conference will be held in Ann Arbor, Michigan on September 9-11 and is sponsored by the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan.

The “Third Sector Innovation: Sustainability and Social Impact”(TSISI) international conference, co-hosted by the William Davidson Institute (WDI) and Institute GESC aims to raise the profile of the valuable work of social enterprise leaders across Latin America, to share best practices and cases of social innovations such as Social Enterprise (Revenue Generation), Management Tools, IT Inclusion, Partnership and to also examine the current obstacles and opportunities for fostering social enterprise in the region.

OVERVIEW: Learn how to develop a strategic approach to developing your brand and create a powerful marketing communications plan. Taught by Rajeev Batra, a top marketing professor and leading expert on global branding from the Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan. Open to brand managers, marketing communications managers, advertising & PR managers.

The conference will focus on business innovations which are occurring in the nonprofit sector both domestically and in EU Accession and new member countries. Nonprofits in the U.S. and in Eastern Europe are experiencing growing competition for increasingly limited donor funds.

Ed Potter, Director of Global Labor Relations for the Coca-Cola Company will be the guest speaker at the WDI Global Impact Speaker Series on March 7, 2007 at 4:30 pm in Wyly Hall room #0768, with a reception to follow.

An information session on WDI Summer Internships will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 31 in the WDI Seminar Room, first floor, Wyly Hall.

Fábio Rosa is the Founder and Executive Director of IDEAAS.  Wellington Nogueira is the creator of Doutores da Alegria (Doctors of Joy).  Mr. Rosa and Mr. Nogueira will speak on November 11, 2006 in the Betty Ford Classroom #1110, School of Public Policy.
