The William Davidson Institute (WDI) provides RSS (Really Simple Syndication or Rich Site Summary) feeds for up-to-date and continual access to our News, Events, Publications and Research Resources. Users are able to receive feeds from a specific area of the website or from the WDI website in general.
What is RSS?
"RSS is a family of web feed formats, specified in XML and used for Web syndication (or content distribution). Web feeds provide web content or summaries of web content together with links to the full versions of the content, and other metadata. RSS, in particular, delivers this information as an XML file called an RSS feed, webfeed, RSS stream, or RSS channel. In addition to facilitating syndication, web feeds allow a website's frequent readers to track updates on the site using an aggregator."

How to access RSS feeds?
A news reader or aggregator is typically required to receive and displays feeds you’ve subscribed to from the websites you’ve visited. This reader or aggregator could be a web-based application such as
Google Reader. Or it could be a downloadable application software or freeware on your computer. There are different news readers or aggregator available with newer versions released frequently. Users should bear in mind that different news readers or aggregators work better with different operating systems. Therefore users should choose one that will work well with their systems to ensure that they subscribe and receive RSS feeds successfully. See an example list of
news reader or aggregator.
To Subscribe to WDI RSS feeds
After installing the news reader, users need to subscribe or add each feed manually from the WDI website by clicking on the "RSS" orange button next to the feed.
If you click the "RSS" button you might see a page containing codes which is normal. Copy and paste the URL from your browser into your reader or aggregator and add it as a new subscription. Otherwise, mouse over the "RSS" button, right click your mouse button and select "Copy Shortcut" or "Copy Link Location" to add the URL to your reader or aggregator. Users can also include the link to the feed by dragging the URL of the RSS feed into the news reader.
Users should however follow instructions of the news reader or aggregator of their choice for adding RSS feed.
Once set up, RSS feeds are received automatically through the reader without the need for users to do anything else.
Note: WDI RSS Feed is a free service we provide for our users and we hold no responsibility over news content from external websites.
