Oikos Call for Cases

The Call for Cases 2009 oikos and Ashoka join forces to promote the creation of high quality teaching cases on Corporate Sustainability (sponsored by oikos) and Social Entrepreneurship (sponsored by Ashoka). The competition welcomes entries from all parts of the world. Submitted case studies should be suitable for use in management education and should be related to managerial issues faced by organizations and individuals. Written short feedbacks are given to each case contributor.

2nd Annual Base of the Pyramid Narrative Competition - 2008

The Center for Sustainable Global Enterprise at Cornell University is pleased to announce its 2008 Base of the Pyramid (BoP) Narrative Competition co-sponsored by USAID. This short-essay competition seeks to highlight the challenges of implementing business in underserved markets and identify innovative business initiatives or solutions to those challenges.

Winning submissions must clearly articulate a business challenge that an organization working in low-income communities is striving to overcome, in addition to the resulting business model or initiative. Experiences and business models may be successful or unsuccessful, provided the challenge and solution-attempt is elaborated upon.

Submissions must be no more than 1000 words, in English. Prizes range from $1000 to $4000.

Director, Skoll Foundation Awards Program

The Skoll Foundation's mission is to serve as a catalyst for systemic change to benefit communities around the world by investing in, connecting, supporting and celebrating social entrepreneurs who are proven leaders whose approaches and solutions to social problems are helping to improve the lives and circumstances of countless underserved populations.

Position Overview:
The Program and Impact (P&I) team seeks a Director-level candidate who brings a combination of intellectual curiosity, a passion for social change, a focus on tangible results and a desire to work within a team culture that practices continuous learning and improvement. This position reports to the VP for Program and Impact who oversees the Skoll Foundation's "invest" programs (i.e., grants and loans to social entrepreneurs' organizations and other strategic initiatives that advance the Skoll Foundation's vision to advance systemic change that benefits communities around the world).

Acumen Fund Fellow

Acumen is looking for dedicated individuals with the moral imagination, the practical skills and the leadership potential to effect real change.
