AVINA
The AVINA Foundation was started in 1994 by Swiss businessman Stephan Schmidheiny, with a mission to "partner with leaders of civil society and the business sector in their initiatives toward sustainable development in Ibero-America." AVINA supports partnerships of for-profits and the private sector to achieve development outcomes in education, community development, corporate social responsibility, and multi-cultural diversity, among other programming areas.
Alliances for Voluntary Initiatives and Development (Allavida)
An International Development Organization working to strength the civil society sector. Its main programs are in South East Europe, East Africa and Central Asia. In Bulgaria, it offers a training program that seeks to foster the development of partnerships among community groups with local authorities and businesses. It publishes Alliance, a magazine about philanthropy and social investment around the world.
East Africa Small Enterprise Fund
The $100 million fund is a newly-minted partnership of the Shell Foundation and the Africa-based GroFin Capital to address the lack of capital and business skills for small African businesses.
Global Alliance to Eliminate Lymphatic Filariasis
According to the their website, “The Global Alliance to Eliminate Lymphatic Filariasis is a free, non-restrictive partnership forum for the exchange of ideas and coordination of activities, with membership open to all interested parties. Its functions include: sharing of information on progress and challenges, coordination of activities (such as fund-raising) and advocacy. To date the Global Alliance to Eliminate Lymphatic Filariasis includes non-governmental organizations, private corporations, and governments.”
The ILEP, in partnership with World Health Organization, the Nippon Foundation, and the Swiss pharmaceutical group Novartis AG, are actively working to end leprosy.
Formed through a partnership between the Edna McConnell Clark Foundation and Pfizer, Inc., the ITT is a non-profit organization dedicated to implementing a multi-faceted strategy to combat trachoma. The ITT is an independent entity that works through partnerships among international agencies, government agencies and nongovernmental organizations.
Network of Lawyers Reforming NGO Laws
A project of the World Bank, the European Union, and the Friedrich Naumann Foundation, this series of law workshops held in Jordan produced the Aman Declaration and the Arab Initiative for Freedom of Associations.
Stop TB Partnership
A partnership of 315 non-profit organizations and corporations, sponsored by the World Health Organization, dedicated to combating Tuberculosis.
Coalescence
A consulting firm that assists clients in both the corporate and nonprofit sectors. Helps companies to develop and implement strategies to become more socially responsible, and nonprofits to adopt business strategies to become more entrepreneurial and efficient. One of their specific areas of consulting is the development, implementation and management of corporate-nonprofit partnerships.
Corporate Community Investment Service (CorCom)
A nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting businesses in locating appropriate non-profit partners for strategic community investments in the U.S. and overseas.
Ethical Corporation
An independent publisher and event producer on business ethics and coporate responsability. One of the topics of its magazine and conferences is business NGO partnerships and engagement.
NGO Development Center
A resource centre for NGOs in the North-West Region of Russia. One of its activities is assisting social partnerships.
NVO Centrs – NGO Institute
An organization that supports the development of the NGO sector in Latvia. It offers training programs about collaboration among the NGO, government and business sectors.
The International NGO Training and Research Centre (INTRAC)
A NGO that supports other NGOs providing training, consultancy, and research in policy issues, management and organizational effectiveness. One of its research projects focused on NGO-Private sector partnerships’ effectiveness in promoting sustainable development.
USAID’s Global Development Alliance (GDA)
GDA works to enhance development impact of its international programs by developing alliances with the private sector and NGOs.
