Project Summary: The partnership between Urals State University (USU) and WDI established the Russian-American Economic and Business Institute (RAMEC), the first American-style applied economics education-research institution outside of Moscow and St. Petersburg. Other achievements of this project include the creation of the Center for Applied Studies in Economics (CASE) and the development of the first accredited graduate program in Applied Economics in Russia. WDI also improved USU’s administration through training and reorganization, and the financial sustainability of the School of Economics. During the partnership with Ural State, WDI developed faculty and curriculum and strengthened USU’s research capability.
